Independent Storage Owner-Operator
We develop, own, and operate battery energy storage. Permanently.
Voltana Energy builds distribution-connected battery storage — typically 2 to 5 megawatts — and holds every asset for the life of the project. Core operations in northern Illinois (ComEd territory, PJM), with development activity in Texas and California.
Own for life.
Every project we start, we build to hold and operate for decades. Landowners, utilities, and municipalities deal with one counterparty from first call to end of life.
Utility-grade process.
Interconnection, protection, and commissioning run by the book — the utility’s book. Applications filed complete under published procedures. Built to the approved design. Tested to the standard.
Audit-grade numbers.
Independent appraisals. Unit-level metering. Claims sourced to primary data — NREL, LBNL, EIA, PJM, IRS — or not made at all.
What we build
Distribution-scale battery storage on small industrial and commercial parcels close to existing utility infrastructure. Fenced, quiet, emission-free, remotely operated. A fraction of an acre is often enough.
How it operates
Systems charge overnight, when the grid has surplus, and discharge when the grid needs power most. No fuel, no emissions, no noise beyond local code.
